Graphic Design

Mission:
The goal was to set a cover and two spreads for a coffee table book about a famous person. Choice of person was up to each student, I chose Albert Einstein. Choice of color, font, size, image cut, compositions, paper quality, etc should be carefully chosen.

Resources & Tools:
Me, Internet and InDesign

Solution:
First I read all I could found about the era which Albert lived in and I read about his personal life to understand who he was. One important reveal was that he was most active during his mid 20s but most articles I found showed images of him as the old and crazy. Therefor I found it important to make sure the younger version of Albert covered the book. Because I was designing for a Coffee table book I thought it important that the book contained both short information for those who have limited time reading it but also had more engaging stuff for those who want to sit with their coffee for a long time. The frames of the project said two spread so I went on with designing for she who has limited time. Quite quickly I wanted to do a time line of his life, highlighting the most important events. I brainstormed a lot but landed in a special designed index which could embrace it all. Read more how in my workbook.
